Pastor Michael DiMarco comes to Friendship Community Church passionate about injecting grace into all relationships, especially in parenting and discipleship, and seeing churches emphasize restoration over amputation. He is the bestselling Christian author or co-author of more than a dozen books including Die Young, Own It, Independence Day, God Guy, Devotions for the God Guy, and the God Guy Devotional Bible. Known for his witty, conversational, and transparent preaching style, Michael most recently served as a Teaching Pastor at The Fellowship, a multi-site church outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
For the past fourteen years, he has served as President and Publisher at Hungry Planet, an independent publishing imprint producing nearly 50 books, bibles, and bible studies including 22 bestsellers in partnership with a breadth of major Christian publishers such as B&H, Crossway, Tyndale, Abingdon, and Baker Publishing Group.
Prior to Hungry Planet, Michael worked as a ministry relations trainer for Logos Bible Software, training ministry leaders, pastors, and seminary professors on how to use technology to supercharge their bible study and research including diving deeper into the original languages of the bible. A frequent guest appearing on Christian media outlets, Michael has been featured on The 700 Club, more than a dozen episodes with Family Life Today with Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine, and Christian radio networks WAY-FM and KLOVE, just to name a few.
Michael also is a sought after voice both on stage as a speaker and behind the scenes as a ministry consultant for major conferences and organizations such as the Precept National Convention, Women of Faith, Catalyst, Awana, FUGE Camps, MOPS International, D6 Conference, and Open Doors International.
Michael’s wife Hayley is also the bestselling author and the Director of Women’s Ministry at Friendship.
Both Michael and Hayley grew up in Oregon and have made Mount Juliet their home since 2004. Before surrendering to a life of ministry over 15 years ago, Michael worked in broadcast communications, hosted talk radio, and coached volleyball at the university level. He and Hayley have been married 15 years and they homeschool their teenage daughter from their log cabin just across from Johnny Cash’s old cabin on Old Hickory Lake.
The DiMarcos work as missionaries to the Bible Belt, to both the unreached and the “reached”; those who have never heard, those that have missed the point of the gospel, been hurt by the church, or want to be freed from moralism and return to the roots of the New Testament church.
